Verband Deutscher Verkehrsunternehmen (Association of German Transport Companies) consists of members which provide passenger traffic with busses, tramways, light rail transit systems, metros or comparable transport systems and railways, of rail freight traffic, and traffic authorities who represent 90 % of the public transport market in Germany. VDV prepares standardized principles on technical, operation, legal and economic matters, advises its members and provides them with information.
